Home Staging

In today’s competitive housing market we all want our home to be the one to stand out above the rest. Making a good first impression is important.

Did you know that Buyers can make a decision based on what they see in the first 30 seconds of viewing a home?

So, as a Seller you want to avoid potential Buyers asking questions like, “What room is this?”, or making comments such as, “We’d need to paint. I wonder what else we'll we need to spend money on?”

Home Staging can help to show your property at its best and therefore maximise the chances of you achieving your desired selling price.

At D.W. Interior Decorating we use elements and principles of design to improve the flow of your property's rooms, the atmosphere in the home, and the visual size of the space.

The Initial Consultation
Your initial Home Staging consultation with D.W. Interior Decorating is FREE.

The Detailed Consultation
If you choose to continue with the staging process a more detailed consultation will then take place. This involves a more thorough inspection of your property, and reference photographs and measurements will be taken. Finally, a written report detailing improvements to help show the property to its full potential will be given to the client.

The fees for this consultation are as follows:
Condo/Apartment - $200
House, up to 8 rooms - $300
House, more than 8 rooms - $25 extra per room

The Staging
Whether you require Complete Property Staging, Targeted Property Staging or Area Specific Property Staging, the next step after your detailed consultation is up to you!

Do you want to implement our recommendations and complete the Staging process yourself? Or would you prefer us to use our design and decorating experience to take care of it for you?

If you choose the latter, an hourly rate of $50 + applicable taxes will be charged for all Property Staging services.

De-cluttering & Storage Solutions

De-cluttering is an essential part of Home Staging, but is also a stand alone service.

A consultation will allow us to assess the space, the clients’ needs and lifestyle, and give suggestions on how to deal with the clutter.

We will then help to create solutions for the clutter, and put into place systems and storage solutions that work within the space, your needs and lifestyle, and your budget.

The fee for de-cluttering and storage solutions is $50 per hour with taxes as extra.

A decorating consultation can involve everything from assistance with a particular item (such as purchasing or re-upholstering furniture), to selecting paint colours, to a complete space re-design.

How Does It Work & How Much Does It Cost?

The Consultation
The consultation consists of 2 parts: firstly, we ask a series of questions designed to give insight into what the client is looking for in the space; and secondly we evaluate the space for functionality, traffic flow, colour and mood. Reference measurements and photographs are taken.

The Report
A written report is then given to the client, detailing work that can be done within the space to achieve the desired result.

The Cost
The fee for consultation is $50 per hour. Additional services provided will be charged accordingly, with all applicable taxes as extra.
